(Posting on behalf of Tiffany)
Is cooking in your DNA? Are you looking for friends who also share your love and passion of cooking, teaching and geeking out about food? If so, keep on reading!
I’m Tiffany, and I’m looking to form a small tribe of local queer women who are interested in coming together once a month to cook and share their passion for food. Growing up in Taipei for 8 years and Tokyo for 10 years, I have many fond food memories such as making dumplings with my grandmother, getting the whole family together for New Year’s hot pot, and learning to make oyakodon. My second mother who’s from the Philippines made fabulous sinigang, pancit and macaroni chicken noodle soup. Cooking was love, love was food.
I loved cooking from a young age and tirelessly try new things all the time. As a queer woman, there are a lot of struggles that we have to overcome to be accepted and loved just as we are. Wherever you are in your journey, if there’s one thing I know, it’s the power of cooking and bringing folks around the table to help foster love and healing.
For our first gathering I’ll be teaching how to make my grandmother’s dumplings. They are filled with love and wrapped with care. As we feast on the dumplings, we can share ideas about what we’d like to get out of this group.
Because we are hosting this in our apartment, we have to cap the size of the first gathering. If you are interested and the gathering is full or you can’t make it to the first event, feel free to message me directly.
